Sort of, anyway...
First the good news: I got my Office 2007 licenses, or should I say, Microsoft Office System 2007. It even came with SharePoint Server 2007, and Microsoft Office Accounting ...
At the retail level, anyway.
And I am no closer to having it installed at home than I was a month ago, when I laid out my grand plans for software upgrades.
I have been heavily involved in a lot of projects lately, both at work and at church, so time management is crucial. Let's see what February brings!
Anyway, back to ...
Soon, very soon...
I haven't had a whole lot of time to check in on Community Server in the past couple months, but I'm happy to see that there is lots of news and information coming out about what was previously referred to as Community Server v3.0.
We're only a few weeks away from an open beta, as per this announcement by Rob Howard.
''Daddy, can you show me how to build a computer?''
That was the request I received today from my 11 year-old daughter. I guess it helped that I had a whole lot of computer parts laying about, with some unfinished systems. I've been pretty busy of late, but it's all good busy -- nothing to complain about.
I still haven't ...

Looks like Telligent caught me off-guard with an update to Community Server. Service Pack 2 for Community Server v2.1 was released today. I didn't even have a hint that they were working on it.
Of course, it would help if I wasn't busy myself, and could visit the forums more frequently.
As always, a very worthy update that I will have to ...
According to some reports, spyware is getting harder and harder to control. The sophistication of the malware makers is growing at a much faster pace than that of the security industry, even to the point of proof-of-concept adware code being developed for MacOS X.
And with all this new malware comes a tremendous increase in SPAM over ...

A summary of the article is available on the SANS website, and the full article is available from Microsoft at the following link: Windows Malicious Software Removal Tool: Progress Made, Trends ...
The world of Telligent and Community Server is ever-changing. Recently, Dave Burke has been working on a CS Daily News FAQ which would cull items from the Community Server Daily News blog and itemize them for easy reference. The Daily News FAQ currently has a temporary home with the Community Server MVPs, so don't ...
More About Sophisticated Malware
Virtual machine detection is a self-defensive property of many malware specimens. It is aimed at making it harder to examine the malicious program, because virtualization software, such as VMware, is a very popular tool among malware analysts. For instance, ...
Pando v1.0 has finally been released, after spending some good time in the beta testing cycle. If you haven't seen or used it as yet, you're really missing out. It is one of the coolest tools for sending large files to people via email, without burdening the email system or either the sender or the recipient.
I've been happily using ...

Yeah, we're still waiting on Vista and Longhorn, but Microsoft has already starting releasing some other applications since October.
Step right up and get your dose of new products: Windows Media Player 11 Windows Defender 2.0 Windows Internet Explorer 7.0 And speaking of Longhorn, here's an article that I saw a couple months back that ...
