The update formerly known as Service Pack 3 for Community Server 2007 was released on September 18. It looks like this fix incorporates a bit more than a traditional service pack, hence the new naming convention, but Telligent still created an easy upgrade path from existing installations running CS 2007.
I'm not yet ready to migrate the ...

It was very long in coming, but the UltraTech Zone is now hosted by a fast, reliable web hosting provider: JodoHost.
This move addresses a fair number of issues that I experienced over the past 8-10 months. Now, I'm looking to get some Technorati configurations straightened out: Technorati Profile.
An upgrade to Community Server 2007 will ...

And more importantly it has been deployed on this site already.
You can find various editions of Service Pack #1 for Community Server version 2.1 at the following link: http://communityserver.org/files/folders/communityserver/default.aspx I also took a moment to add Dan Hounshell's new aggregate blog list mod to the site.

This is just a test post to see if this thing is working properly...
Dan Bartels just updated his CS Module on Wednesday...

Okay, it looks like I was able to get everything working on the site in terms of Community Server modules.
I even got the Community-Credit add-on to work, although I'm not sure why the behavior was different with my home system and my publicly hosted one. (A couple of thoughts come to mind, but I'll test them out later.)
By mid-September, ...

Today was a looooong day, with plenty of learning opportunities. As a result, this is a loooong post, with plenty of opportunities to induce boredom.
Anyhoo... This morning, at 5:45am ET, I violated one of my very own technical deployment rules and decided to upgrade my main website (this website, in fact) to ASP.NET 2.0, just before ...

After a long bout of troubleshooting, we finally made the determination that the reason why the Community Credit Add-on for CommunityServer.org wouldn't work on any of my installation, is that it is a .NET 2.0 application, and I've been running CS on .NET 1.1.
The sad part is that it didn't occur to me to ask about that key differentiator until ...

Over the past couple of days, I've been spending mucho time in the CommunityServer.org forums, getting quite a bit of help on making various skinning modifications on my site. Much of this has been spurred on by things I've seen on the websites of various Telligent members and Community Server MVPs.
With lots of help, plus a judicious dose ...

This whole issue of generating Google Sitemaps is not as straightforward as I thought it would be. More precisely, there are more complications than expected for my Commmunity Server-based site. The key is to get the links I really want into the SiteMap, while avoiding the many links that can be generated that I don't want in ...

My Favorite CS Editor
Maybe it's just me, but although there are certain things I like about the tinyMCE editor that's now the standard in Community Server 2.1 (such as the ability to set the link to open in a new window), I find that it is a bit slow to load, frequently hogs up the CPU in my browser window (I'm using the Maxthon browser), and ...

The website has been upgraded to version 2.1 of Community Server.

There's a reason why you shouldn't generally perform website upgrades in the middle of the night, when sleep is calling you.
The good folks over at Telligent surprised me today by releasing Community Server 2.1 just hours after I'd upgraded my corporate site over to v2.1 RC1, thinking they wouldn't get the release version out for a few more days ...

Very soon. That's the plan, anyway.
And it will reside in these forums.
No matter what, the http://KB.UltraTech-llc.com and http://www.UltraTech-llc.com/KB links will continue to function for quite some time.
More news to follow.
First, I need to upgrade my forum to version 2.1 of Community Server. ...

Well, a second beta is available for CommunityServer version 2.1, and it's looking very good. I'm running it on my internal server at home, but I haven't upgraded my public site (this one) or my Intranet installation at work as yet. I'll wait for the full release before I do that. (Notice how tentative you can get when ...

I can hardly wait for the new release of Community Server -- version 2.1.
According to the CS Monthly Bulletin, it is expected sometime toward the end of this month, which means I should be able to update my installations at home and work by mid August. (I'm going to be quite busy in July -- more on that later).
Looks like some ...
