Service Pack 3 for Community Server 2007 is on the horizon, considering that a beta for SP3 was recently made available by the folks at Telligent. I'm glad that I checked, because I was planning to update my site to CS2007 SP2 this holiday weekend, but I remembered that I have previously been surprised by updates on occasions such as ...

It's been quite some time since I've posted about CommunityServer, mostly because I've been busy working on a variety of different projects. Now that CommunityServer 2007 (CS2007) has been officially released, it's time for me to get back on that bandwagon and start testing out the new functionality. Unfortunately, I barely had any ...

Even though CS2007 has been available for over a month now, and even though I managed to download it just a couple days after release, I still haven't had an opportunity to play with it at home or at work. I've been too busy finishing up a couple of other projects...
Hopefully, I'll have a chance to get to it in the next few weeks. ...

Soon, very soon...
I haven't had a whole lot of time to check in on Community Server in the past couple months, but I'm happy to see that there is lots of news and information coming out about what was previously referred to as Community Server v3.0.
We're only a few weeks away from an open beta, as per this announcement by Rob Howard.
There's ...

Looks like Telligent caught me off-guard with an update to Community Server. Service Pack 2 for Community Server v2.1 was released today. I didn't even have a hint that they were working on it.
Of course, it would help if I wasn't busy myself, and could visit the forums more frequently.
As always, a very worthy update that I will have to ...

The world of Telligent and Community Server is ever-changing. Recently, Dave Burke has been working on a CS Daily News FAQ which would cull items from the Community Server Daily News blog and itemize them for easy reference. The Daily News FAQ currently has a temporary home with the Community Server MVPs, so don't ...

Before my euphoria over the upcoming service pack for Community Server v2.1 could wear off, here comes new information about some of the features in the upcoming version 3.0.
These Telligent folks just don't rest!
Although I forgot to mention it in my CS 3.0 WishList, GoogleSiteMaps support is something I'm looking forward to, and now it's going ...

It won't be long now... Service Pack 1 for Community Server version 2.1 is just around the corner.
Mind you, I haven't had many issues with v2.1 as it is, but I always welcome fixes, and in this case, Scott's comment about cleaning up ''encoding characters in auto named blog posts'' has really piqued my interest.
I can't wait to see ...

Microsoft has just released a beta of their new Blogging Tool that will work with Windows Live and any of the popular blogging services. So far, Windows Live Writer is getting some rave reviews.
I still need to test out the beta of Office 2007, but I haven't been able to fit it into my schedule. Word 2007 has facilities for easy ...

Well, a second beta is available for CommunityServer version 2.1, and it's looking very good. I'm running it on my internal server at home, but I haven't upgraded my public site (this one) or my Intranet installation at work as yet. I'll wait for the full release before I do that. (Notice how tentative you can get when ...

Forrester Research has recently completed a study on Blogging tools, where they rated products such as WordPress, TypePad and CommunityServer.
CommunityServer came away with a decent rating, with the only complaint that the content management and workflow tools are weak. I'd also include the need for better skinning and customization ...

I can hardly wait for the new release of Community Server -- version 2.1.
According to the CS Monthly Bulletin, it is expected sometime toward the end of this month, which means I should be able to update my installations at home and work by mid August. (I'm going to be quite busy in July -- more on that later).
Looks like some ...
