  • Built a high-performing IT Operations team, and led them in modernizing an aging technology infrastructure using server, application and storage virtualization technologies, as well as significant networking upgrades to reduce provisioning times from weeks to days, and lower costs for new implementations by over 30%.

  • Technical Architect for a migration from a 40-domain Windows NT4 environment to a two-domain Active Directory (Windows 2003) architecture in a global network supporting 4000 users in more than 50 office locations worldwide, which laid the foundation for VoIP, eMail archiving, and Exchange 5.5 to 2003 migration projects. Worked along with Microsoft Consulting Services (MSCS) and geographically distributed team members to design the structure and policies for our Organizational Units, Group Policy, Name Resolution and Delegated Administration. 

  • Developed a comprehensive Information Security program from the ground up, including staff, policies, infrastructure, and user education to significantly reduce the occurrence and impact of malware within the corporate network. Developed policies and procedures for patch management, incident handling, vulnerability management, and forensics, in accordance with industry standard frameworks such as CoBIT, reducing malware impact from days per month to hours per quarter.

  • Led the design and implementation of key global business projects for the Finance, HR and Creative departments, which required coordination with both internal and external stakeholders. Played key roles in the implementation of various components of the ITIL framework, including Change, Incident, Problem and Configuration Management. Deployed a central document repository and knowledgebase to consolidate the IT Policies and Procedures for three IT departments.

  • Designed and deployed a multi-layer messaging security strategy which reduced email downtime by over 60% and improved performance by over 30% over the previous solution, while supporting peak inbound email volume of over 60 million messages per month.

  • Assembled and managed strong IT teams in 24x7 environments consisting of network engineers, systems administrators, security analysts, and database administrators. Provided tools and training to IT staff to improve productivity, efficiency and customer satisfaction. Managed geographically dispersed, cross-functional teams ranging from 5 to 20 staffers, with up to 10 direct reports.

  • Prepared technology roadmaps and managed annual operating budgets up to $5.5 million. Implemented streamlined processes for technology procurement, saving 30% over previous year. Provided technology strategy consulting for small businesses with 5 to 100 employees, including assessment and deployment of server/network/security infrastructure.
