My Resume Cloud

Today, I came across a very interesting tool for generating a word cloud – basically, a visual representation of the frequency of words in a block of text, just as you might find in the tag cloud of a blog.  I was first made aware of this tool from this LinkedIn Answers question, which then led me to the following blog post.

It looked cool enough that I decided to map out own resume:

Wordle: Resume of ASBIt is actually very interesting to see which words are most frequently used.  Although most of them turned out just as I expected, a few of them were somewhat surprising.  (Not inaccurate, mind you, just more dominant that I anticipated.)

It’s a pretty good exercise, and I’ll have to play with it some more to see what other uses I can find for word clouds.

Andrew,

I found this site that performs a very similar function however you can embed the results into your website.

http://tagul.com/

Also if you provide a URL it can update dynamically.
