12 Ways To Create An Ineffective Job Postings
Just today, I read the following article about bad job advertisements, and I have to say that I heartily concur with the sentiments posted there -- especially #6.
Nothing is a greater turn-off in the job searching process than to find a job posting that won't indicate even a broad range for the position. It's not like an organization will be able to keep that aspect of the job a secret, and 9 times out of 10, the positions that won't post the range are not willing to pay anything resembling market rates, hence the attempt at secrecy. Don't want people comparing positions on the open market, now, do we?
If the job is good and reasonable, feel free to tell us what the salary is, or you'll only get those desperate enough to try and find out.
Bottom line: The article was humorous, but right on point.
