Don't Drop the Ball on Security
On a number of fronts, April 2007 is turning out to be a very interesting month for me. For this particular post, we'll just touch on Information Security again.
A recent report from MessageLabs indicates very clearly that targeted security attacks are on the rise, and that email is still a common threat vector. This morning, I attended a half-day seminar by security vendor Postini which highlighted a similar set of disturbing trends.
Suffice it to say, you really need to be proactive in your approach to home and corporate security -- no matter what the size of your organization, or how unimportant you think your data might be. (After all, the bad guys can't be certain how worthless your data is until AFTER they've broken in, and even then, your systems will still make good zombies to attack other, more valuable targets.)
