Driving, Driving, Driving...

Generally speaking, I don't like to drive for more than 2 or 3 hours at a time.   Maybe even 4. Somehow, various family members (primarily my wife) have managed to convince me to take far lengthier trips by car over the past 12 months or so.

For instance, last year in June, we drove down to Georgia -- with the kids -- to visit my wife's family.  13+ hours each way, and the fun part was that we raced a tropical storm on the way back (and lost).

This year, she and I drove up to Andrews University in Michigan -- a 10 hour trip.  This was the 2nd year that we went up there for the Adventist Family Conference, but the first by car.  Last year, we had fun flying in to South Bend, Indiana and monkeying around with time zone fluctuations.  We didn't have to endure that silliness this time, and we experienced the best weather -- both coming and going.

It was fun, but I was glad to get home.  (Incidentally, the trip home was 11 hours, because we had to stop by my parents to pick up our younguns)

Overall, it was a great trip for reasons that I'll probably discuss in a separate post, and I have to remember to post various pictures covering the events of the past few weeks.
